Philip N Cassis I first met Art Johnston in Sea Cadets 1954. We were going to at Sea together in 1959. Then Art and I and Chris Scott went on a Sea Cruise from Jan. 2..March 15 for about 90 days. Halifax Bermuda, San Juan, St. Thomas Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and many other PORTS OF CALL On our way to Cuba Nikita Kruscheff decided that Castro should have Guided Missels in Cuba. ALL HELL Broke loose.. Canada was not involved. We had to get out of there and go to the Virgin Islands. Art was our best Band Master. and Chief Petty officer.. Art was a terrific guy. I spent approx 500 events with Art. Music...Band..Drill....Target Practice (Rifle) special 303 chambers. etc. Art was our Coxswain with our cutter boat races. We won the Canadian National Rowing Regattas at the CNE Toronto. We won first place in Toronto CNE. I still have my Medal today went our on ways. ART May the force be with you. PHILIP N CASSIS
