I was deeply saddened by the news of Charlie's passing.I had the pleasure of serving in London City Council with him in the 1970's and I appreciated his inciteful and intelligent discourse on several topics.Actually, Charlie's and my positions most often converged and gave good guidance to the stewardship of the City.He was a good and trusted companion and I enjoyed his wit and broad knowledge.My sincere condolences to his family, friends and collegues.
