In difficult times we try to remember those precious moments of love, laughter, the hugs, kisses, fist bumps, but most importantly that persons presence that was brought into this world that will be dearly missed, by many. When I met Derek I was such a young kid but Derek was always caring, giving, and protecting. Whenever I tell one of my greatest stories as a kid growing up Derek’s name is mentioned, brief but it was a moment in time when we were getting trailed by a big bear after apple picking. Derek told me we had to be super quiet to make it back to the cabin. We made it back due to Derek’s calmness, and re assurance that everything will be okay. In difficult times such as Derek’s passing, I will always remember his graciousness, kindness towards me. He will be missed on this earth dearly by friends and family, my prayers go out to Cindy and his friends with Love and hugs. Scotty Womer
