Charley–

I was saddened to hear of your mother's passing. I remember your mother as a wonderful lady.

You probably do not remember me. But I remember your mother and father, and you. We chummed around for awhile on George Street, in the early 1950s.

I remember playing darts with you in your room in that brick house on George St. We were both about eleven years old. Your mother brought us hot chocolate, likely to discourage us from getting into your father's home-made beer.

I especially remember your mother and father taking us two boys on an Easter Egg Hunt down on the Fredericton Green near the old Railroad Bridge.

"You're getting warmer–warmer."

Those beautiful Easter Eggs – your mother must have spent weeks hand-decorating those eggs, a real work of Art.

It has been sixty-five years or so but I still fondly remember the Wiesner Family of George Street...

Your mother was a good soul...full of fun.

Your pal from Long ago...
...who lived several houses away on George St. across from the Market.
