I first met Jack in the 1980's when I joined the London Board as a vice-principal. He headed the panel that interviewed me. His quiet kindness and encouragement in that rather stressful situation won me over. In the years that followed, I developed an even deeper admiration and respect for his level-headed, insightful, fair minded leadership. His respect for staff and students set a wonderful example. As an added bonus, he had a delightful sense of humour. I will always regard him as the best kind of Director every school board should be fortunate to have. My condolences to the family.
