I was a nurse at WMCH in the early 1970s and we almost daily had Dr. HInton visit his patients on our floor. He was so kind, and often greeted his poor debilitated young patients with, "Hello, big boy!" I can still hear him. A wonderfully kind (and smart, of course) doctor. It was a privilege for me to work with him.

Dr Hinton was one of the best Doctors that I know of.He found that my son had MELAS in 1984 when hardly anything known of this Syndrome.Even today it’s hard to find a Dr that studies Mitochondrial Disease.Today is Mitochondrial Disease Awareness Week and I want to Thank this Dr from the bottom of my Heart.I lost my Son but it’s because of Dr Hinton that more is known of this Disease.Thank you Dr Hinton xxxx
