I was a teammate with Ziggy on the Miller Wrestling Team. In 82, he won the provincial wrestling championship, leading our entire team to a provincial team title. He was our leader, a shining star.. His magic smile, his talent on the mat, and his mischievous ways which drove our coach, Gil Wist, up the wall. I was crushed when I heard the news. I haven't seen Ziggy since 82/83, but only a few people come in your life, that make you smile and say, I am so glad to have known him.
Myself, and few other grade nines, froshes, we were little rats on the team... Ziggy made us all feel apart of the team, played jokes on us, but then we knew, Ziggy was in our corner, like an angel on our shoulder.
Ziggy, John, I know you are in heaven, coordinating another group of mat rats like us.
Godspeed brother,

Our heart goes out to you and your family. John was the most energetic person I know within HBI whistling or clapping his hands to set the mood for the day. John gave me the nickname Wheels as he heard me on Jack Fm, as was regarding a school snack and how to eat it. I decided to call John, John boy as from the Waltons Tall lanky and full of smarts am gonna miss him a true heart he had. John always shared whatever he had whether it was he did on the weekend out at the cabin or the deer meet from the seasons hunt. JOHN shared to which we appreciated. We will always Remember JOHN kinda like Robin Wliams a SMILE ON YOUR FACE.
