It was with great sadness that we learned of Bess’s passing. Bess was a wonderful lady, and although we had only known her for a little over two years, she leaves a hole in our hearts. Bess enjoyed watching the antics of the squirrels that often fought over sunflower seeds, peanuts and acorns. With Bess’s directions, we were able to find the foundation of her childhood home in Kouchibouguac National Park, a place we will continue to visit each year on our annual camping trips. Bess was someone that you knew from the moment you met her she considered you a friend. She had a great sense of humour, an incredible knowledge of history and was very astute when it came to politics. She will be dearly missed.
