I worked with Bill White for several years when he was Dean of Engineering at Ryerson. His principal achievement was to secure full professional accreditation for every one of the engineering degree programs offered by Ryerson. This was a notable example of his academic leadership ability, and it made a major strategic contribution to Ryerson's gaining full university status in 1993.
Bill was a loyal, likeable, and immensely hard working colleague; it was a privilege to have been associated with him and to count him as a friend.
