Hazzard

I knew David both as a friend and a business associate. As a friend, I found him perpetually uplifting, endeavouring to connect even the worst of situations with the constancy of God's faithfulness and love. Since I'm not built that way, it was always an inspiration to be with him. That said, I discovered what might be his most godly attribute, when I had occasion to disappoint him. Since the fault was entirely mine, it was hard not to miss David's pastoral predisposition for mercy and restoration, when the rationale to sever relations was what most people would have done. His determination to remain connected is something I will never forget. I am also very grateful for the way he remained in touch with people like Ruth McAlister, a devout Christian woman who at the end of her life experienced much by way of alienation and loss. David was instrumental in my reconnecting with her after my not seeing her in over 30 years. My thoughts and prayers are with David's family. God bless you with comfort in these days of mourning and loss. No doubt the imprint he has left on all your lives will live on!
