I will always remember the times being at Scout camp and Nigel was one of the leaders responsible for us orangutans. I remember seeing him sitting at a rickety picnic table making a sandwich. As he was spreading the peanut butter on his bread, some ants ran across it. Nigel just swiped another layer on top of them. With us gawking in disbelief, he smiled and said “hey, more protein”. Anyone who knew him could easily picture him doing so. His optimism was truly contagious. Nigel was one of those rare souls who would radiate levity everywhere they went.
