So many great memories, we have a picture of Renee on a group camping trip in Cape Breton, she had just set up her tent and was sweeping the floor with a broom so she would be ready for guests. Although she hasn’t hiked with us for awhile, we often tell Renee stories to our new members.

Having very recently had the distinct pleasure of hugging and chatting with Renee I was shocked to hear of her sudden death. Renee brought a smile to my face every time I saw her, she was an absolute delight. Her wit, charm and sometimes mischievous nature endeared her to everyone who knew her.
I hiked with her quite a few times and attended her 80th and 85th birthdays where our hiking group delighted in celebrating those milestones in her life.
I remember on one particular hike in Nova Scotia where there were steep hills to overcome on the trail. I, in my early fifties, she around eighty or more were both going up this steep incline, I was slightly ahead of her and had to stop to regain my breath, while she casually continued on past me (not puffing, panting or sweating) while making a wry comment to the effect that I must have stopped to appreciate the beauty of some wild flowers nearby. That comment made me chuckle and solidified my love and respect for her.
She was a great woman and a real lady and all those that knew her in our Moncton Outdoor Enthusiast Club will remember her with a profound fondness.
