I am sad to hear of Bob's passing and send condolences to his family. We were pledge brothers at Pi Kappa Alpha at Penn State and shared several years of good fun and experiences. I was walking from campus to the fraternity house when he went by honking the horn on his small Honda motorcycle while heading to the house also. As he went over a crest of the hill, I heard a large sound of metal crashing and ran over to find out that he had hit a van which pulled out across him. He suffered several gashes across his face and likely a concussion. I tried to keep him still while another person ran to a house to call EMS. True to his spirit, he smiled and teased about his plans for the rest of the day being trashed.
I regret not seeing Bob since our graduation in 1967 which was a turbulent and uncertain time for young men in particular. He was a passionate and thoughtful friend to many of us.
