Ernie and Joan were such good friends to my parents and to our family. I spent a lot of time at their home at Helene Avenue, and also in Berwick. They were so very good to me. I remember their kindness in letting us pick apples and pears on their farm in Grafton. They were a faithful couple who were a bright and shining light wherever they lived. I count it as a great privilege to have known them. They will certainly be missed.
