I surly miss my Aunty Oskie already and remembering going down to Riverton (57 years ago) on the Greyhound Bus to spend the summer with anticipation and excitement to spend joyful time [Once again] with my Aunty Oskie, Uncle Johnny cousins David, Patsy, Darlene and Heather, Aunty was always there to meet me with a big hug and kiss and saying: "Billy, let's get you home and unpacked and get some food into you!" We always had fresh veggies because aunty and uncle had a Hugh garden where we always had the freshest vegetables. After a hearty Icelandic dinner aunty would always bring out the vinarterta, cookies and different assorted sweeties'[Aunty baked herself] then we'd play a couple of board games before bed. The days following I would walk to town (2 miles) with aunty to maybe do a little shopping and get the mail and it took a while to get to town some days because we'd stop at this house and that house just for a little visit, which was sooo nice, BUT, one of my favorite things to do with Aunty Oskie was go to town to play bingo, I even won a couple of times as well and money back then went a LONG way. As I grew older I didn't make it down to Riverton as much but when I did and as soon as I opened up aunties back door (Her door was NEVER locked) I could smell the delicious lingering odor of her homemade chicken soup and I just had to have a bowl or two-or three! You know, even with her excruciating back pain she still attended my 60th Birthday. https://www.screencast.com/t/F0klCDY6 https://www.screencast.com/t/r2BkVZJA Aunty was such a generous soul and I am so very sad to see her go, but, now, she is with the loved ones whom passed before her. By for now Aunty and God Bless!
