Dear Stacie and family - my sincerest condolences on your Dad’s passing.
I have many many fond memories of the over 25 years we were colleagues at the Amherst School for the Deaf and when I was a new teacher many years ago he was always ready to offer support and advice. He had a wicked sense of humour and we never knew what to expect next.
Let’s just say life was interesting with Russell as a colleague. He was also instrumental over 50 years ago in founding our national Canadian Association of Educators of the Deaf and Hard of
Hearing (CAEHHH) which still exists today, and served in many capacities. I know he was also a strong and talented community member.
It was hard to say no to Russell as you would end up doing what he wanted anyway. He was a unique and talented individual who contributed so much to all his communities. He’ll be remembered by all who knew him. Rest in peace Russell. Remembrances from an old friend and colleague.
