My sincere and deepest condolences go out to Ella and the McCarty family for your loss. I first met Ben in 1983 at the Atlantic maintenance conference where we discussed the need to form an association. Ben and I were close friends and colleagues from that day forward. Ben's accomplishments in the field of a aviation are too numerous to list - but his record speaks for itself. A born leader, an aviation enthusiast, visionary, and activist, Ben McCarty was a giant among his peers. His engaging smile, quick wit, and out-going personality were characteristics that captured friendships all over North America and beyond. A respected mentor and renowned philanthropist, Ben McCarty sits at the top of the leader board above all whom he touched. I will miss you and our long conversations my dear friend - but your work, memory, and and legacy will live on for generations to come. Rest in peace Ben.- you've left you mark.
