When I first moved here, to 90 Wiley Street, Billie Jean was one of the first neighbours to greet me. She was always friendly. My daughters and I attended garage sales she organized with her husband, Don and the retired Bell workers. There was never a puzzle piece missing or an uncared- for item on sale. They were both careful of the quality of things they sold.
When I had a "Vote for Jim Bradley" sign put up, Billie Jean and her friend, Bev came to check that I was not listing this house for sale. They wanted me to know they hoped I'd stay here.
I was saddened by her loss of memory, and I did visit her at Woodlands of Sunset, where she was, as always, friendly, despite confusion. To her family, I send my sympathy as Billie Jean was a fine woman, a very good neighbour.
