I would like to express my sincere condolences to the family and friends
I had the chance to meet Gilles in Oct 1977, it was my first day as a government employee. I was asked to report to the 23 rd floor records office at the Bell Canada building on Elgin street and ask for Gilles Chasles. Being raised in a strict family it got to the office and asked for Mr. Gilles Chasles, you can imagine the laughter in that office. Gilles was so handsome and just 2 years older than I was, he had never been called Mr before. It was a standing jokes for a good while.
It was a pleasure working with him, always laughing and joking around. He left government to go work for a company that made barcodes to put on file folders, so he would show up once in a while at work when he had some deliveries of sales to make. Always the same demeanor and he could of been able to sell a fridge to Alaskan Bush people, he was a super salesperson. It was always a pleasure to be in his presence he was a very nice person.
I am sure that during his life he has touched a lot of people and there are tons of stories like mine.
