My most memorable memory of Grant was the loud laughter he displayed while playing cards at our family Christmas dinners. Also, when I was young and visiting Gramma & Grampa Little at their farm, I always wanted to have pancakes. Grant & I would have a race to see who could eat the most. Obviously, since he was 8 years older, he always won except for 1 time, when he was leaving for a date. I was so proud of that win, I'm sure I kept reminding him that I beat him.
I was very impressed with the way Grant lived his life and of all the obstacles that he had to overcome. The biggest that I remember was the explosion at the Petrolia Drum Co. Donna stayed with us in Sarnia so she would be close to the hospital. Grant was badly burned and it was touch & go for quite a few days. But he pulled through and didn't let any of his injuries hold him back from enjoying life to the fullest.
