Miss Bartle was my Grade 1 teacher at Central Public School in Cornwall, Ontario. I shall always remember her. A beautiful woman, Miss Bartle filled her classroom with art and music. I shall always remember her playing the piano as we marched round the classroom. One piece She would play was “In a English Country Garden” by Percy Grainger. Miss Bartle taught me to read!
