I lived in the same rooming house as Gord in the Annex in 1961-62. I remember him as
a friendly guy who was struggling to be a success in music. Thank God he made it.

Gord, the people here in Orillia are heartbroken. You never forgot about us. You brought us so much joy, excitement and pride when you played at the Opera House and summer festivals. You.and your music will live on in our hearts and minds forever.
I will never forget how excited Steve was when he came to school with "Uncle Gord's new Sundown album".
Steve looked up to you and learned to write songs and play guitar. What an honor it was when you played Steve's song at your concert here in town.
Steve, you and your family have my heartfelt sympathy. I am deeply sorry for your loss.
