We lost a one of a kind guy. Growing up my teen years in the East end of Kentville during the late 1960's and seventies I chummed around with a great bunch of guys that were like brothers to me. We went to the same schools, played sports together and later partied together. All these guys made me what I am today. Though Allen (Max) was a bit younger we adopted him as one of us. As we grew older Max grew to be the biggest of all of us. We had some great times together and many stories, some I cannot share, LOL.
I personally loved Max's humour and nothing ever surprised me. I used to laugh when he would tell me that he often robed Ron's licuer cabinate, take some of the alcohol and put it in a mason jar and fill his dad's with water. He always thought his dad didn't know but I'm sure he did.
I played hockey at Kingstec with Allen and also worked with him at nights at Zellars in New Minas before I moved to Halifax to start my career in 1977.
I would see Allen from time to time over the years but not as often as I should have.
I will miss you big guy but I have wonderful memories of the times we shared.
Take care. John
