Donnie was a great friend during our high school years together, and over the years he would occasionally stop in for a visit when he passed through Port Hawkesbury. I was honoured to get mention in his first book about growing up in Sydney, and I have very much enjoyed his publications. I last spent time with him in October. He will be dearly missed by myself and so many others. Rest in peace, Donny.
