Marie-Anne Bedard Simard was the twin sister of my mother Marie-Marthe... and my cherished godmother. Even though we lived in different countries, she held a special place in our lives and was a constant presence due to the deep bond that the twin sisters shared. Marie-Anne was a beautiful person - inside and out: spiritual, refined, creative, a gifted writer, well informed of current events, a caring and loving soul. Given that she was still living independently and enjoying life well into her nineties, her death took us by surprise and has left a hole that no one will be able to fill because of her unique character and charm. Our mother had a favorite saying whenever she was faced with adversity - that she was earning her wings... and our aunt stated that her passport to heaven was ready. They were like two-peas-in-a-pod, so different yet so alike. I will greatly miss our phone calls in French, her loving attention and prayers, and her beautiful spirit. But I am comforted knowing that she is reunited with our mother and her many siblings and loved ones. Dear aunt/godmother, I wish you eternal peace & beauty. Know that you will live on in our hearts and memories. Sent with love and prayers from a distance... Normand and the Poulin Family X0 XO
