Voici un message de Raymond qui fut époux, père, grand-père, arrière-grand-père, oncle, ami.

Il aura laissé sa trace et son souvenir nous suivra longtemps. Puisse-t 'il continuer à nous guider, nous enseigner, nous rassurer, nous aimer comme il a su si bien le faire.

Ceci est un hommage à sa vie!

This is a message from Ray. He was a husband, a father, grandfather, great grandfather, a uncle and a friend. He left his mark in this life and he will be remembered because of is way to guide us, to teach us, to reassure us and mostly to love us. This is to honnor is life!

 

Raymond est décédé le 19 juillet 2021, à Gatineau, à l'âge de 82 ans. Il était le fils de feu André Bastien et de feue Delvina Lorrain. Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse Marcelle Blais, ses quatre enfants : Lyne, Michelle, Sylvain et Anne (Mario Bédard), ses cinq petits-enfants : Mathieu (Anael), Julien (Brittany), Gabriel (Catherine), Sabrina (Andy), David et un arrière-petit-fils : Émile.

Il fut prédécédé par ses frères : Conrad (feue Pauline Duval), Romain (feue Huguette Joanisse), Gaétan (Martine Quevillon), sa soeur Léonne (feu Donald Chénier) de même que par son beau-frère Roma Blais et sa belle-soeur Fernande Blais Duncan. Il laisse aussi trois belles-soeurs : Agathe (Maurice Latour), Madeleine (feu Rodrigue Bourgault) et Marie-Berthe (feu Robert Lafleur), un beau-frère Maurice Blais (Gaétane Strevey), plusieurs neveux, nièces et ami(es).

Raymond était pilote durant une longue partie de sa vie; il a oeuvré comme tel pendant de nombreuses années au Club de Vol à Voile du Gatineau Gliding Club auquel il était très attaché.

Raymond avait plusieurs passions dont la chasse et la pêche auxquelles il excellait. De plus, il affectionnait particulièrement le tir à l'arc et a su partager sa passion et ses connaissances avec de nombreuses personnes de différentes générations au fil des ans. Il en gardait un excellent souvenir.

 Raymond était un homme modeste, il était un vrai gentleman.

Une célébration religieuse, en présence des cendres, aura lieu le 9 octobre 2021 à 14 :00 à l'église St-Grégoire de Nazianze au 150 rue Maclaren Est, secteur Buckingham à Gatineau, J8l 1K1.

La famille recevra les condoléances à compter de 13 :30.

Afin de respecter les consignes gouvernementales sur la covid-19, il n'y aura pas de réception après la cérémonie.

He was the son of the late André Bastien and the late Delvina Lorrain. He is survived by his wife Marcelle Blais, his four children: Lyne, Michelle, Sylvain, and Anne (Mario Bédard), his five grandchildren: Mathieu (Anael), Julien (Britanny), Gabriel(Catherine), Sabrina(Andy), David, and a great-grandson: Émile.

He was predeceased by his brothers: Conrad (late Pauline Duval), Romain (late Huguette Joanisse), Gaétan (Martine Quevillon), his sister Léonne (late Donald Chénier) as well as by his brother-in-law Roma Blais and his sister-in-law Fernande Blais Duncan. He also leaves three sisters-in-law: Agathe (Maurice Latour), Madeleine (late Rodrigue Bourgault) and Marie-Berthe (late Robert Lafleur), one brother-in-law Maurice (Gaétane Strevey), several nephews, nieces, and friends.

Raymond was a pilot for a long part of his life; he worked as such for many years at the Gatineau Gliding Club to which he was very attached. He was a good hunter and fisherman.  He was also passionate about archery and he knew how to share his passion and his knowledge with people of different generations over the year's and to which he retained fond memories of.

Raymond was a humble man and a true gentleman.

A religious celebration in the presence of the ashes will take place October 9, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the St-Grégoire de Nazianze Church located at 150 Maclaren E. Gatineau (Buckingham sector).

The family will receive condolences beginning at 1:30 p.m.

In order to comply with governmental guidelines on covid-19 , there will be no gathering after the ceremony.
