He was one of the key persons at a crucial moment of my life. His help was a major factor that enabled me to participate in ICME-7 at the Université Laval, Québec, and stay there for two months after the Congress. During this time I could complete a work that later turned on to be of vital importance in my further career. A friend full of goodwill, a mathematician full of knowledge, an educator full of enthusiasm. May he rest in peace! István Lénárt, Budapest, Hungary.
