It is with sadness that we have learned of Don’s passing. Our sincere condolences to Flo, Deana, Wayne and their families.

As we remember Don, there are many memories that come to mind. Allow me to share just a few:

For many years, Don picked up the toys at Christmas. When I accompanied him on any of these pickups, it was obvious that Don regarded this as a ministry.

Don loved to play in the band. He could talk for two or three hours about banding. It was one of his passions.

Don loved to cook. It was his greatest joy to receive us for a cup of tea or a meal.

Don’s favorite song in the songbook was “The well is deep”. Whenever a favorite song was asked for, this was always Don’s request. Some of the words are:
“The well is deep and I require a draught of the water of life.
But none can quench my soul’s desire for a draught of the water of life.
‘Til one draws near who the cry will heed, Helper of men in their time of need.
And I, believing, find indeed that Christ is the water of life.”

With challenges of health in recent years, Don looked to the “Helper of men” and found that the well was deep, and could sustain him.

Today, he is with God enjoying the fullness of the water of life.

Rest in peace, Don.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you today as you gather to remember Don.
