My deepest sympathies to all the family. This is extremely late but I just found out that Angele had passed away. We always exchanged Christmas cards and I always followed up with a birthday card and a phone call as we both shared the same birthday (11th) . I sent a Christmas card but it was returned to me this past Thursday so I followed up with a phone call and Bell said her line was no longer in service, then I knew something had happened to her. I first met Angele in 2000 when I joined the local horticultural society in Vankleek Hill, Ontario to whom she belonged. She lived just 2 doors down from my husband and I on Cassburn Road on a beautiful piece of property. We became friends and would periodically visit one another, what a classy lady! I look up from my computer to a painting Angele gave to me for being president at the time of gladiolus (which was featured on the cover of our 100th anniversary of our horticultural society yearbook) . Also, she gave me 2 Christmas cards with scenes she had painted (one with a snowman at the corner of her home and one winter scene with a bench that was positioned on the left side of driveway, I had these two cards framed and they are hanging up in my living room. What a beautiful artist and a person, I always loved chatting with her. When she told me she was moving to Ottawa to be closer to her son, I was quite sad to hear this. She said when she would drive to Montreal she would stop by to say hi which she did until her eye sight affected her driving. About 6 years ago after my hip replacement my friend drove me to Ottawa to have a visit and lunch with Angele. She gave us a tour of her beautiful home and I couldn't believe all the paintings she had hanging up everywhere, just beautiful!!!!! Mary Higginson from Vankleek Hill tracked down the obituary for me as I hadn't a clue what happened to Angele so I have her to thank. I have nothing but good memories and beautiful photos of Angele helping out with cleaning up our local park beds, preparing food for our flower show and tea, bus trips, the children's spring and tulip show and painting other yearbook covers for our society. I really hope this message gets passed onto her family and to let you she will always be in my heart! Joan King, 1292 Emerson Road, Vankleek Hill, Ontario K0B 1R0
