My sincere condolences to Lynn and family with Garth's passing. My teaching colleague, fellow umpire, softball teammate, mentor and friend. Garth has left a great legacy with his implementing, developing, coaching, mentoring, fundraising, volunteering of the many sport / athletic programs at TOSH. Garth was very proud of his daughters and talked of them fondly and often. He and Lynn enjoyed their time and trips together for fun and recreation. I had the privilege of umpiring with Garth at his first National Softball Championship, an awesome memory. You will be remembered always my friend !

I met Garth on a basketball court in 1969/70. He was a tough competitor and a terrific athlete. We were opponents who had a great respect for each other. We both remained involved in sport and particularly in school sport over our teaching careers. We made many a trip to national meetings and local sporting events together as representatives of the PEI School Athletic Association. Garth, as Executive Director of the PEISA, was a tremendous leader and an extremely hard worker. He led the Association through many years and through his guidance school sport on PEI has seen tremendous growth. I appreciated our friendship and our working relationship throughout the years. Sport in general and school sport particular will miss the support of such a hard working coach, official, administrator and volunteer. I offer my condolences to Garth’s family at this sad time. Rest In Peace Garth.
