Dear Claire and family Thank you so much for streaming the service for Hugh on the internet. It was so very special for Myrlene and me to be able to join with you and the family for this service. The Ghent family has been so close to us all through the years that we ministered in Cambridge. It brought tears to our eyes to hear of the godly influence that you and Hugh have had on your children and grandchildren. The tributes also brought tears of laughter to our eyes as well. Just yesterday we were telling some friends about Hugh's enterence into heaven and that we wanted to watch the service on the internet. We told them about the original slide show and were so glad to hear of the latest version. We recall how some of the guests watching the origional slide show were cleaning their glasses, wondering why they couldn't see the pictures. God bless you Claire and your family. It was so good to join with you from our retirement community in Victoria BC Ernest and Myrlene Kennedy

Hugh was in my first class when I started to teach in Ayr Ontario. He was In Grade 5 in a Grade 4/5 split. I was 19 and we all learned together doing a great job. The kids were receptive and the parents very supportive. Hugh was a pleasant boy with a cheerful cooperative disposition. I was invited to the Ghents’ home for dinner for a meet the teacher event. It sounds as if he led a fulfilling life in many important ways. Too bad we never met in Sarnia my home town. Perhaps a sibling could get in contact with me to fill in a few missing stories of Hugh’s life. Sincere wishes of sympathy and condolences to the entire family.
