Farewell, Aunt Margaret. You were a positive force in my life before I was 10 years old, and ever since. You and your family as farmers were of great value in nurturing my ability to understand people. You and Uncle Jack patiently answered what must have seemed to be silly questions. At an early age I knew from reading what farms were, but had no true appreciation of how they really work and what they do in the very complex fabric of our society. Your patience and understanding with your animals spilled over onto me and others, making it easier to deal with people as I grew older and for them to deal with me. I did not have a lot of opportunity to visit, due to geography and the very time consuming business of growing up. However, when we were together, it was always easy to talk with you. I attribute this to your calm demeanour and your willingness to take time to listen and ask insightful questions. I am glad that in recent years you got to know my wife Linda and I when we visited with you in Chesley. I got a lot of pleasure listening to my Mom's tales about the three sisters'(Margaret, Eileen and Helen) many excursions to Frankenmuth: there must have been some real stories told on those outing! So, Aunt Margaret, Godspeed to new adventures and friends! We will miss you!
