Dear Family and Friends. Hello, my name is Laurie Carrick Robbins and I am from Brimley, Michigan. My deepest condolences for the passing of Don. I met Don many years ago, when we shared a journey of trying to live a good life. His was a familiar face for those walking this life in Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Brimley and Bay Mills. His words and example helped me and many others. Don was also the Language teacher at Brimley Elementary School. He was very patient and gentle with the children and made learning Ojibwe fun for them. Don was also an instructor at Bay Mills Community College. Again, he had a positive influence on many learners and we all shared many laughs and meals and encouragement. Over the years, we moved on with our lives and I hadn't spoke with my friend in many years. I was saddened to learn of Don's passing and wanted to share with you some of the very good memories I have of this special person. Again, my deepest sympathy to his loved ones.
