I will always miss my mother terribly. When she left it seems like the soul of her home went with her. But I will keep it as she would had wished.

I was blessed to receive a sign that she is ok, the day I asked. She had a clock I bought her for her hospital stay. It never worked when I tried to set the time (only) , it never made a noise, and showed the wrong month, day and time 4 months later.

Yet I woke on her birthday, upset, and asked aloud, if you could only send me a sign your ok, that's all I want.

That night that clock which I had forgotten about on a desk in my room, while in there, went off, and played the tune "Happy Birthday." for approx. 5 minutes, that evening, and I called my sister and my cousin to let them here it on the phone. The clock was never set up, and of all tunes happy birthday, on her day. With 365 days a year, and on the wrong date, time etc, it was a obvious signal shes ok, and I got my message. God bless you mom and thank-you for that, and I will see you again. Love you. Your son Ken.

I was asked yesterday, if I’d be willing to share a few words with you regarding Aunt “Doddy!”

I remember aunt Dorothy as a quiet, but confident woman, who always saw the bright side in any situation, and exemplified JOY in her life!

First and foremost, Aunt Dorothy was a woman of faith! She openly spoke, and shared her faith with the people she came in contact with! She could only do this, because she had a personal relationship with Jesus! Because she was a Christian, she always put Jesus first in her life! 🙂As recently as a couple of months ago when we were visiting, she told me “always keep God first in your life, and everything else will work out just fine! “
Aunt Dorthy loved Jesus!

Aunt Dorothy was always willing to entertain “others”, and freely sharing what she had! She always had a snack, and a cup of tea ready for anyone Who came to visit! 😊Now for those of us who knew Aunt Dorothy, this visit, would inevitably, almost always lead to a touring of her beautiful gardens, because she had a very green thumb!
Aunt Dorothy enjoyed the many “others “in her life!

Now we have talked about Aunt Dorothy’s love for Jesus, and the many others in her life, but I know that one of her greatest joys in the life she lived… was you!
YOU are whom she loved most, while she walked among us! 😁She would always talk of her many brothers, and beloved sisters, her husband, her daughters, her grandchildren, and also of a man, ⚔ ️ who has given the last 25 years of his life in support of both his father and mother, ⚔ ️ who has done things for his father AND mother that most of us could not do, ⚔ ️ a man who has shown so much love, and compassion, and commitment, and what having a true servants heart really means, ⚔ ️ a man that we can ALL learn from his example!

I am obviously speaking of her beloved son, Ken! A MAN WHO I AM PROUD TO SAY IS MY COUSIN!

So when you think of Aunt Dorothy, and take time to reflect on the life she lived, think of the word JOY and remember how SHE spelled it...

JESUS, OTHERS, AND YOU!

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” ‭ ‭Romans ‬ ‭15:13 ‬ ‭ESV ‬ ‬!

We will miss Dorothy and her beautiful smile and witty words. She had sayings that seem to fit every situation. You can tell her and Don are cut from the same cloth. Coffee after church at Timmies gave us opportunities to her of her love of family, friends and flowers. Her gardens were beautiful because of her green thumb and tender care. But her greatest love was for the Lord and I know she is with him now, no longer having to deal with the struggles of this life. Praying for her family as they mourn the loss of their Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma.
