Captain Davis was an excellent artillery officer who dedicated over 40 years of his life to serving his country, his soldiers, and the guns. I had the pleasure and privilege to work with him given he was one of my officers when I commanded 56 Fd Regt RCA 2015-18. At that time he was a Battery Commander. Prior to his coming to 56 Fd I remember calling him every three months to try to recruit him into this regiment. I knew he was about to retire from the Regular army and he hadn't decided yet what he'd do next or where he'd live. Luckily for 56 Fd he chose to transfer to this regiment, serve as an artillery Reservist, and settle into Simcoe. My sincere condolences to his family and loved ones. Rest in peace Pete and Ubique. I am saddened to hear of the loss of Pete. Pete and I served together for years in numerous different Artillery Regiments, I was also a close friend of his brother Chris. This is a terrible loss and very unexpected. I wish all of Pete's family the best in this very trying time.
