She was such a beautiful student to sit beside in Grade 10 Math in Richview Collegiate. Her nails always the same colour as her skirts and blouses that she wore. Her sculpture of Tom Thompson makes her the Michelangelo of Huntsville..........forever. Goodbye, Brenda. I will always love you.

I am often reminded of the 1969 visit to our family cottage of a young Brenda Wainman and then decades later in Gravenhurst in 2002 with her magnificent Bethune and a toast by the Gov. General and visiting Chinese Army officials. The swing and sway of life bore her on its wings to us across many miles and endeared her to our hearts. And then to send her two young daughters Halley and Danielle to Mexico with me to build homes for the homeless there, was also an act of courage and trust - two strong characteristics in Brenda that live on through each of Mallory, Halley and Danielle. "...So he up and took you away. On earth we sit here and wonder "Why not just one more day?" It's amazing to see your impact, To see what you've done. The fight isn't over, But we know you've got it won." (Nick Courmon)
