I am old enough to not only know Herman but also his father and mother who without them we as kids would have had a very bleak Christmas ! Herman was much like his father, very friendly and kind to everyone. The Pier became a sadder place the day Archie’s closed their doors for good. We owe Herman a great deal for all he accomplished for the Pier with starting the Christmas Parade and his involvement in the boys and girls club. Herman will be forever in the Hemmings family’s thoughts and minds. I an very sure that Herman will have a very special place in the next world because of his personality.
