It is with such a heavy heart that I write this. I am so, so sorry for Brock's family and friends. I've known Brock since I was 12 years old. We met when my family became friends with the Daggetts when they lived at Head Harbour Light on Campobello. His sister Sharon and I became good friends and I spent many weekends at their house. I lived in Lubec and Sharon's mom Geri would come over a lot of times and pick me up on Fridays after school. Since Canada was 1 hour ahead of Lubec time, most of the time, Geri and the kids would be waiting for me when I got off the bus. But a lot of times, if she couldn't pick me up, I'd hitchhike to the lighthouse Sharon, Brock, Blaine and I had such fun on Saturday nights after their parents went out and left us to babysit. Of course, we had to wait until Brock and Blaine finished watching the hockey game on TV before they'd want to do anything. I can picture the two of them rough housing on the couch together and laughing. Sometimes in the winter, Brock and Blaine would get us to play hockey with them on the little pond down below their house. I know Sharon and I weren't very good at it, but we all had so much fun and laughed so much. I had quite a crush on Brock at the time, but then Brock moved to Grand Manan to finish high school. I stayed in touch with the Daggetts until I got married and moved away. We all went on to have families and children, and luckily about 14 years ago, we managed to find each other again, and Sharon invited me and my sister, Gaye, to come visit her on Grand Manan. We spent 3 fabulous days there, seeing each other again after all those years had gone by. I got to meet Sharon's husband, George, and Brock and his wonderful wife, Flo. I felt like I had known her all my life. We got to go to White Head to see Blaine and his wife, Dorothy and some of their kids. Brock and Sharon were there with us and they told us how lucky we were because the weather was gorgeous, a perfect day. I wish I could relive those few days. Over the last years, Sharon and I and Brock, would email each other periodically to talk about our families and keep up with what was going on. Some of my family is still in Lubec and Brock used to try and visit them when he went to Lubec. The first thing I did when I found out about Brock, was to let all my family know, because we all loved him. He did tell me he had COPD but he never let on how bad he was, so, to find out what happened to him was a big shock to me. I am so glad that Flo is surrounded by her kids and grandkids and loved ones. I wish I was there Flo to give you a big hug because I know your heart is broken, My thoughts, love and prayers are with you. He will always be in my heart and not forgotten! All my love, Sharon
