It is with profound sadness that I find myself writing this tribute to my friend Elin. I first met Elin in the very early 1990's - along with her brother Bill and sister Pat when I started working at City Machinery until it was sold to Westward Parts in late 1992. We met up again when Elin joined the Westward team in the mid 1990's. Elin was a very hard worker and never did anything half way. Elin loved life. Her eyes shone with joy when she spoke of her and Dales'grandson Chaz. She loved their and all animals. She loved watching her sports. Elin was so excited when the staff at Westward were given the opportunity to meet and have our picture taken with 2 members of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Grey Cup. In her words - "I totally fanned girl that day! I was shaking!" She was a source of comfort for anyone that needed it. Elin was their for me when I was unexpectedly let go after many years of service. She gave me my first 'telephone hug'and offered words of comfort and solace. She was so giving and kind hearted. Elin was never one to put the spotlight on herself. She was a private person in some aspects in her life. She only shared when she felt that it was necessary. She did not like pity. I was fortunate enough to speak with both Elin and Dale about a month before her passing. We spoke about our past and present. We laughed together. She was looking forward to seeing her dogs and to have a change of scenery. I like to believe that she fought as hard as she could. She was a fighter. It was an honor and a privilege to have known and to have had her in my life for so many years and to call her my friend. Rest in Peace Elin. Dawn Kasprick
