To Deb's family and friends,
I would like to start off by saying how very deeply sorry I am for the loss of your wife, your mom, your sister, your aunty, your grandma, and your friend.
I had the privilege of meeting Deb as a young and eager new Mental Health and Addictions Life Skills Worker at Harbor House in Trail B.C.
It wasn't long before I realized how fortunate I was to have such an intelligent, funny, compassionate and "say it like it is" kind of woman mentoring me. 😊 ❤
It was quite apparent that Deb loved her family, through the stories she shared, but one in particular will always stand out for me.
The story goes, Deb had her grandchildren over for lunch one sunny afternoon and as she proceeded to chef up some leftovers one of her grandkids asked what was for lunch, after Deb told her grandkids what was on the menu, one of them replied, "I'd rather eat grass!"
So Deb promptly went outside with a pair of scissors and proceeded to cut a bunch of grass clippings (enough for ĺunch)
She cooked the grass in a pot on thhe stove and served her grandkids!
