This is the corrected obituary;
On Saturday, 22 July, 2017 Andrew (Andy) John Hredil, beloved husband of Betty, passed away from time into eternity. Andy was born on 23 November, 1925 to Mary and John Hredil in Uhry, Poland, (now Ukraine) . At Age 16 upon the Nazi invasion, Andy was taken into a Labour Camp in Austria. During WW2, Andy spent time in a Concentration Camp, ran with Tito’s army, joined the 5th Polish Division of the British Army (1944-1948) serving in both Italy and England.
After the war, he married Anna Wadrus, the two immigrated to Montreal, Canada in 1952, and finally relocated to Regina Sask., where he and Anna welcomed 4 daughters. After being employed with the City of Regina in the Public Works Dept. for 32 years, he retired and relocated to Kelowna, BC and again relocated to Penticton in 2002, where he met and married Betty, nee Peters- Stelfox.
Andy spent his last month’s being well taken care of by the staff at the Residential Care Facility, the Hamlets, where he passed away on 22 July. Andy is survived by his loving wife, Betty, 4 daughters, Mary (Kirby) Kroon of Calgary, Ab., Olga (Larry) Schmidt of Calgary, AB., Sylvia (Mitch) Buhr of Regina, Sask., and Brenda Hredil of Calgary, AB., 8 grand children and 6 great-grandchildren and several friends.
Funeral services will be conducted by Doug Morse & Richard King at the Day’s Inn Conference Centre, 152 Riverside Drive, Penticton, BC on Thursday, 27 July at 1:00 p.m. We would like to send many thanks to the Doctors and staff at the Penticton Regional Hospital and a very special thank you to the staff of Providence Funeral Homes.
