It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend to many on July 23, 2023 at Fort Vermilion, Alberta.

Jack was born in Kindersley, SK on December 15, 1927, the second child of Ben and Dorothea Newman.  In 1936 the Newman family moved to Fort Vermilion, AB where Jack was raised and eventually took over the family farm.  In 1954 he married Pearl Schultz and together they raised their four children on the farm. In addition to his work on the farm Jack was a very active member of the community and the Anglican Church. In 1998 Jack and Pearl retired to the Sherwood Park area where they remained until Pearl's passing in early January 2023.  Jack then returned to the family farm, where he passed away on July 23.

Jack is survived by his sons Barry (Sonia) and Greg (Deanna) and daughter Louise (Barry).  Six grandchildren, Killian (Julie) , Dawson (Natasha) , Nathan, Nicole (Walter), Jonathan, and Logan (Keltie). Two great granddaughters Olivia, Charlotte and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Jack is pre-deceased by his wife Pearl, daughter Tori, grandchildren Jackson and Erin.

A Funeral Service will take place in Fort Vermilion on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at 2:00 pm at St. Henri's Catholic Church
