Andre has been a wonderful teacher and friend in the geosynthetics industry. His positive outlook was always a welcome sight at the numerous conferences where we would connect. He will be missed by many.

When I joined the geosynthetics fraternity in 1977 Andre was already well-known in the field, and I had the pleasure of several meetings and discussions with him during my early days with the then bidim group. A true geosynthetics pioneer, he will be missed.

When I joined Carpi in 1987, Andre Rollin was one of the first persons I got in touch with. He inspired much of my technical knowledge and research. We spent time together discussing leak detection system. I always appreciated how fun he was. I will miss him. Alberto
